Saferworld is an independent non-governmental organisation that works to prevent armed violence and create safer communities in which people can lead peaceful and rewarding lives. Saferworld believes in working with others to achieve common objectives. Our aim is to empower local partners with the skills to become more effective and sustainable. We develop and carry out programmes with a range of governments and international, regional, national and local organisations.
The Forum for Civic Initiatives (FIQ) is a non-governmental organization with a focus on the rule of law that works to increase citizen participation in decision-making processes for a just, peaceful and developed Balkan region. FIQ aims to contribute to and engage in public policy-making processes with regard to community safety and the control of small arms. FIQ aims to promote standards of good practice within the NGO community and is therefore constantly seeking to incorporate these values into all its activities. FIQ was created in 2000 to address a variety of urgent needs in post-conflict Kosovo. Since then, FIQ has evolved into an organization with a focus on safety, security and justice. As the staff has grown both in numbers and in expertise, FIQ has continued to collaborate with a wide variety of international and Kosovar institutions to work towards a just, prosperous and democratic Kosovo.
