Promoting community safety, Kosovo |
During February and March 2010, in the framework of its community safety work in Kosovo, Saferworld and its local partners the Forum for Civic Initiatives (FIQ) and Communication for Social Development (CSD) have supported a number of consultation meetings with Municipal Community Safety Councils (MCSC) and other stakeholders at the local level. Such consultation meetings were organized in Ferizaj, Shtime and Gracanica municipality. |

Linking up community safety initiatives, Kosovo |

Prishtina, 26 February 2010 - As part of efforts to promote community security, Saferworld organised a conference in Pristina, Kosovo, to discuss the legal and institutional framework for developing an appropriate methodology. The event was an opportunity for over 60 participants working on community security in Kosovo to exchange information on the institutional and legal framework, and its linkages with initiatives taking place at community, municipal and central government levels. |

Traffic safety problems in the village of Raushiq |

Two years ago, FIQ in cooperation with Saferworld, developed a project on community safety in the village of Raushiq. One of the problems of the community, which is still unresolved, is the risk for students, in the highway. After this, FIQ and Saferworld have conducted activities in this community in order to simulate the central institutions in resolving this problem. |
