Debates in Ferizaj, Shtime and Kacanik on shooting during holidays

Prishtina, December 28 - In the debate on "How to avoid gun shots and the use of pyrotechnic means in the season's holidays," organized by FCI, Saferworld and supported by INPO, in Shtime and Kacanik, municipal officials, police, KSF and others, have said that measures against sellers and users of pyrotechnic means should be toughened. They have argued that pyrotechnic means are of multiple risks, they do not have instructions of use, and there is little or no information on their chemical composition and origin. Municipal Inspectorate of Shtime has indicated that during the last days, they have shut some stores opened specially for the sale of pyrotechnic means, and said they are determined to take tough measures.

Sidewalk and lighting the way to high school "Naim Frashëri"

Shtime, December 28 - The work in the first phase has finished, as a part of the project of public lighting and fixing the sidewalk to the high school "Naim Frashëri", a project co-financed by FCI, Saferworld and the Municipality of Shtime. This project has been selected as a prioritiy that emerged from the Action Plan of the MCSC, which aims to establish the safety of students and teaching staff at this school, taking into consideration the frequent attendance of vehicles and the journey of students during evening hours in an unlit space.

Closing meeting with the MCSC of Shtime and Ferizaj

Ferizaj, December 22 - In a joint meeting of the project closing of FCI and Saferworld in support of MCSC, cooperation activities implemented to increase the level of functioning of MCSC in these municipalities were assessed.

Inauguration of camera installations at four high schools in Ferizaj

Ferizaj, 21 December - FCI and Saferworld have supported financially the project of the Municipal Council for Community Safety Council (MCSC) in Ferizaj for placing cameras at four high schools as part of increased order and safety in schools.

Gracanica support in addressing security problems in the community

Gracanica, December - The project "Safe Place", Saferworld and FCI during this year have again continued cooperation with partner organization CSD in Gracanica. CSD has advocated the institution of the municipality to establish a Municipal Council for Community Safety. In the meantime that the MCSC was still not constituted, CSD, with our support, has addressed community concerns relating to safety in the community, through meetings with focus groups with citizens.
