Ferizaj, 8 December 2009 – with the aim to continue supporting the Council of Ferizaj Students (CFS), among others, in treating the safety problems at school community, Saferworld and FIQ held a workshop with 30 students, representatives from 6 high schools.  During this workshop, all together drafted the annual action plan of CFS, including main segments where CFS should enhance its inclusion and strengthen its role at the school community, and other stakeholders for cooperation were identified.

In order to achieve these objectives, students assured they would: increase their participation at school’s decision-making, increase cooperation with the Police as per safety at schools, strengthen their role and activate Parents’ Council, and improve the rule of uniform keeping by the students.

Within the annual plan, they have foreseen special activities like: publishing the school magazine, finding the sources to offer financial support to the students with worse living conditions in covering transport expenses, greening of school spaces, finding the support in installing cameras and audio-equipment in school, making the official requests at the authorities on improving school infrastructure, organizing anti-smoking campaigns, and performing other leisure activities at schools.

CFS shall share this plan with the institutions like the Municipal Education Directorate and others, in order to enhance its role.
